Description
The White Miller Dry Fly is a classic pattern that has long held a place in the fly boxes of anglers, especially those fishing Eastern and Midwestern waters. Inspired by the White Miller caddis, which emerges on warm summer evenings, this fly imitates the adult stage of a bright, pale-bodied caddisfly often seen skimming the surface in twilight.
Pro Tip
In twilight or shaded runs, trim a single notch into the underside of the hackle—just enough to let the fly sit a hair deeper in the film. That micro-silhouette shift breaks up the bright all-white profile, making it look less like foam and more like a real struggling white miller.
