GTI Caddis Nymph fly pattern - Caddis nymph image

Description

The GTI Caddis, created by Lance Egan, is a representation of the Hydropsychidae larvae, affectionately known as the "net builder" Caddis. GTI - Go-To Imitation, earning its name by being a weighted fly that remarkably mimics the preferred large food source of Trout. Notably, the GTI's back might not precisely mirror the color combinations of its real insect counterpart, but its effectiveness as a go-to pattern is undeniable.

Pro Tip

On deeper runs, add a micro-pause in your tight-line drift; the GTI Caddis will tip forward and lift slightly, imitating a real caddis larva losing its grip. That tiny movement often triggers strikes when a standard dead drift won’t.
