About North Platte - Miracle Mile

The Miracle Mile is a renowned seven-mile tailwater section of the North Platte River, celebrated for its exceptional big trout habitat and consistently cold water. This Blue Ribbon trout stream supports a substantial population of Rainbow and Brown Trout, with impressive migrations occurring in spring and late fall/early winter. Anglers can anticipate excellent opportunities for both dry fly fishing, particularly during the epic Salmon fly and Golden Stone fly hatches, as well as highly productive nymphing and streamer fishing. Due to tricky access and frequently changing flows, fishing with an experienced guide is highly recommended for navigating this largest continuous section of public water on the North Platte outside of the Medicine Bow National Forest.
