Report Summary for May 2026

This year: The Encampment River has seen a significant jump in flows, currently running at 676 CFS. Despite the increase, fishing has been good. Water temperatures are still on the colder side, and we're eagerly anticipating more consistent dry fly action. Dry Dropper rigs continue to be the most productive method. Focus on larger golden stoneflies paired with drake droppers. Streamer fishing has also been producing well, with small baitfish and craw imitations like the Bellycrawl or Silvey's Balanced Sculpin being effective. Keep an eye out for Golden Stonefly Nymphs and Lawson's Brown Drake Duns.
