The First Fork Sinnemahoning Creek is a 33.4-mile long river in Wharton, Pennsylvania, offering diverse fly fishing opportunities. Anglers can target brown trout, rainbow trout, and brook trout, as well as smallmouth bass, walleye, northern pike, yellow perch, and bluegill. Significant hatches include Blue-Winged Olives, Caddis (Grannom, Elk Hair), Hendrickson, March Browns, Green Drakes, Sulphurs, Light Cahills, Golden Stones, Tricos, Terrestrials, White Flies, and Midges. Several access points exist, including Wharton Village and sections within Cherry Springs State Park, with prime fishing spots ranging from the abundant waters near Wharton Bridge to deeper pools and higher-elevation sections known for brook trout. A notable feature is the George B. Stevenson Reservoir, a 142-acre lake formed by the George B. Stevenson Dam, which is open to electric-powered boating and ice fishing.
