Fly Fishing Stream Conditions Report: Fall River

Period:

Aug 2026Jul 2026Jun 2026May 2026Sep 2025Oct 2021

Report Summary for Aug 2026

This year: The Fall River is fishing much better than it has in recent weeks, offering some great opportunities on the water. PMDs have been the primary hatch, with some caddis in the mix as well. As is typical on this river, the key to success is to size down your flies. Try opting for size #16-18 PMDs and caddis patterns instead of larger #14-16s. For dry-fly setups, a Hackle Stacker or Comparadun will match the picky risers nicely. If you are looking to fish subsurface, drift a Rainbow Warrior or a Morrish Sparkle Donkey Jig through the deeper lanes.

Prior years: No prior years report for this period.
