Report Summary for Jul 2026
This year: The Boise River is offering consistent fishing conditions on the In-Town stretch, with clear water and good overall flows. Further downstream near Middleton, flows are steady, averaging around 265 CFS, ranging between a minimum of 233 CFS and a maximum of 292 CFS. If you are planning a trip, be aware that float season is in full swing, which brings heavy recreational traffic and makes fishing from Barber Park to Ann Morrison Park a bit tricky. Nymphing remains the most productive approach to find success right now. Early in the day, target deeper holes and tail outs where trout are holding deep to pick off drifting bugs. As the sun gets high during the mid-day hours, adjust your focus and look for fish moving into shallower, faster water. We are seeing an excellent variety of bugs on the water, including caddis, midges, and pale morning duns, while grasshoppers are becoming thick along the grassy banks. To match the local forage, drift a Duracell Jig, Copper John, Purple Dart Jig, or a Chili Pepper Worm.
