LIL Foamy Midge is a fly pattern designed by Umpqua Signature Tier Scott Thompson, crafted to replicate the tiny, vulnerable midges that trout frequently target during hatches. The fly’s foam wing is the standout feature, providing excellent visibility on the water's surface while maintaining a low profile that imitates the delicate midge pupae.

Temperature-driven depth adjustments – When fishing in early spring or cooler months, fish the LIL Foamy Midge higher in the water column, as midges tend to emerge at shallower depths during colder periods. Conversely, during warmer months when midges often emerge deeper, adjust the depth at which you're fishing the fly by slightly increasing the leader length or sinking the fly deeper in the water column for a more natural presentation.
