Description
The JuJuBee Midge is a slim, high-contrast midge pattern created by Charlie Craven in the early 2000s to solve ultra-selective midge feeding on technical tailwaters, especially Colorado’s South Platte system. Built as a reverse-tied thread body with a narrow thorax hotspot, the JuJu Bee presents a sharp segmented profile that perfectly matches natural midge pupae and emergers in the film. Its durability, simplicity, and deadly effectiveness in cold, clear water quickly made it a staple among guides and competitive anglers. Today, the JuJu Bee is considered one of the most reliable midge patterns ever designed for pressured trout and year-round midge hatches.
Pro Tip
Add flotant on the tippet up to the fly (Not on the fly). It will rise slowly up the water column as an emerger.
