H.V.R.T. Carp Fly

The H.V.R.T. (Haitian Voodoo Rattle Torture) fly, designed by Daryl Eakins of Nervous Water Flies, is a versatile pattern tailored for carp fishing. Its design draws inspiration from the Guide's Choice Hare's Ear, modified to appeal to carp's feeding habits. The fly's construction includes a bead chain eye, lead bars for weight, and a combination of Australian possum tail and hare's ear dubbing for the body, creating a lifelike profile that mimics aquatic nymphs or juvenile crustaceans.

Let the fly hit the bottom and sit for a full three seconds before moving it. The H.V.R.T.’s weighted lift bars tilt the fly upright during that pause, making the dubbing collar “bloom” like a feeding nymph cloud. Carp almost always eat it while it’s motionless, not when it’s moving.
