Description
The New Goldie, also known as the Articulated Goldie, was created by Trent Tatum for Wyoming’s famous North Platte River. Featuring a distinctive white-and-gold color combination, this large articulated streamer produces exceptional flash, movement, and a lifelike swimming action designed to trigger aggressive strikes from predatory fish. Closely related to the olive-and-copper Rusty Trombone, the New Goldie has become a favorite throughout Wyoming and northern Colorado. Its flowing materials and articulated design make it particularly effective for targeting large brown trout, rainbows, bass, and other predatory species in rivers and stillwaters.
Curated by the IdentaFly fly fishing team.
Pro Tip
Fish the New Goldie with two sharp strips followed by a long pause. The articulated body continues moving after the retrieve stops, often triggering strikes from large trout following the fly.
