Bomber chironomid

The Bomber Chironomid is a bold, attention-grabbing midge pattern that earned its name from its thick, segmented profile and bright wing buds that “bomb” through murky water and low-light conditions. Originally tied as a high-visibility version of a standard chironomid pupa, it became popular among anglers who needed a fly that stayed noticeable at depth while still maintaining the slim proportions of the natural insect. The dual-rib style and reflective body materials help refract light, making it stand out during heavy emergence cycles when fish are selective but the water column is crowded with competing prey.
