About Strawberry Reservoir

Strawberry Reservoir is a premier stillwater fishery located just over an hour from Salt Lake County, Utah, offering consistent opportunities for cutthroat and rainbow trout. This lake is renowned for its abundant populations of medium-sized cutthroats, with unique opportunities arising from the Bear Lake Cutthroat strain which preys on invasive Utah Chubs. Anglers can experience exciting dry fly fishing targeting rising fish during callibaetis and chironomid activity. For a more aggressive approach, daytime mousing can be incredibly effective, especially during calm, cloudy mornings. Mid-fall often provides excellent terrestrial fishing, with fish actively feeding on the surface and subsurface along drop-offs and weedbeds. As water temperatures cool, streamer fishing becomes highly productive, with aggressive trout eager to chase baitfish patterns right up until the lake freezes. The reservoir offers excellent accessibility, with many fish cruising within casting distance from shore, making a watercraft unnecessary for a successful outing.
