About Sevier River

The Sevier River, Utah's longest river entirely within the state, flows northwards through a dramatic landscape of towering limestone cliffs and pine forests, offering diverse fly fishing opportunities. This drainage, fed by numerous smaller creeks, supports healthy populations of wild trout including Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Brook Trout, and Bonneville Cutthroat Trout. Anglers can expect excellent dry fly fishing with prolific hatches, and nymphing and streamer techniques are also highly productive across its varied water types. The East Fork of the Sevier River is a designated Blue Ribbon fishing area, though access can be challenging due to steep slopes and brush. The river is ideal for both learning the sport and challenging experienced anglers, with opportunities for sight-fishing to large trout sipping dries.
