About Otter Creek Reservoir

Otter Creek Reservoir, nestled amidst the Parker and Monroe Mountains, is a highly productive fishery known for its ability to grow large trout quickly, with four to eight pound rainbow trout being common. Anglers can also encounter brown trout, cutthroat trout, and tiger trout, with introduced smallmouth bass helping to manage Utah chub populations. During warmer months, trolling streamer patterns, needlefish, or Triple Teazers is effective as fish move to deeper water, and nymph and midge patterns are also recommended. Shoreline fishing can be productive during cooler periods, especially off points on the west side or near the dam and campground. Otter Creek is also a premier destination for ice fishing when the lake freezes over.
