About Mantua Reservoir

Mantua Reservoir is a productive, shallow 600-acre mountain lake near Brigham City, Utah, offering excellent year-round boat ramp access and clear water. This fishery is home to rainbow trout, largemouth bass, bluegill, and yellow perch, with a focus on fly and lure fishing since a 1998 treatment. Anglers can target largemouth bass with weedless plastics along dikes, rocky shorelines, and gravel beds, while fly fishers often find success with poppers and Dahlberg Divers. For bluegill, poppers or sponge bugs are effective, and nymphing with Prince nymphs or leech patterns around weed beds on a sinking line works well. Trout can be targeted with Woolly Buggers and leech patterns near dikes and stream inlets, or with tube jigs in deeper water. Wakeless boating is permitted, making float tubes and kayaks popular choices on this accessible lake.
