About Jordanelle Reservoir

Jordanelle Reservoir, situated on the eastern edge of the Wasatch Mountains and fed by the Provo River, offers a popular fishing destination known for its bass and trout populations. Anglers can pursue smallmouth bass, with rumors of fish exceeding the state record, and large brown trout often caught on tube jigs along rocky points. Rainbow trout are also present and can be enticed with trolling pop gear and worms, a method that also attracts big browns. While not as common, largemouth bass, perch, and even kokanee salmon, recently introduced, are possibilities. The reservoir is divided into three areas: Hailstone, known for its boat ramps and amenities; Rock Cliff, a quieter, more natural section with limited boat access; and Ross Creek, offering access to the Perimeter Trail for shore fishing and good bass opportunities.
