Fly Fishing Stream Conditions Report: Jordan River

Period:

Mar 2025Feb 2024

Report Summary for Mar 2025

This year: Fishing on the Jordan River has been good this month. Flows are low, around 150 CFS. For the stretch near 1700 South, the river has averaged 50 CFS this month, with a range from 32 to 61 CFS. Nymph fishing remains the most productive method in the mornings, and a light nymph rig is recommended. As the day progresses, good dry fly fishing can begin around noon. Using a longer leader, such as a 12-foot, with lighter tippet (6-7x) will improve your presentation. Midge activity has picked up significantly, and we're seeing some buffalo midge as well. For nymphing, try a black or gray Zebra Midge as your point fly, trailed by a small Tube Midge or a thread midge in red, black, olive, or tan.
