Fly Fishing Stream Conditions Report: Fremont River - Lower

Period:

Jun 2024Aug 2021

Report Summary for Jun 2024

This year: The Lower Fremont River below the highway is currently flowing low and clear, with flows averaging around 55 CFS this month, ranging from 48 to 65 CFS. Fishing quality has been fair. Despite the low water, hatches have started, making it worth wetting a line. Anglers should focus on presenting smaller dry flies and nymphs. Try patterns like a Parachute Adams, Zebra Midge, or a small Pheasant Tail. Be aware that warm weather has brought early thunderstorms, which could temporarily muddy the river.

Prior years: Fishing on the lower Fremont is excellent. The water clarity is muddy. For best results, try timing your trip after a week of dry weather. Be aware that any thunderstorm can muddy the water for days. Look for emerging Salmonflies and Yellow Sallies.
