About Duchesne River

The Duchesne River, a 115-mile Blue Ribbon fishery originating in the Uinta Mountains, offers significant trout fishing opportunities, with brown, cutthroat, and rainbow trout present throughout its fishable stretches. While much of the river is private, numerous public access points make it a prime destination for fly anglers. Specific regulations apply to the West Fork, which is artificial flies and lures only, with a limit of four trout, no more than two of which can be cutthroat or trout with cutthroat markings. Downstream from the Green River confluence to the Knight diversion, anglers can also target channel catfish, Burbot, Northern Pike, and Smallmouth Bass.
