About Currant Creek Reservoir

Currant Creek Reservoir is a 300-surface-acre mountain lake nestled in a high-elevation setting, reaching over 120 feet deep. This reservoir is a prime destination for targeting Cutthroat Trout and Tiger Trout, with occasional Rainbow Trout also present. Anglers can effectively fish from shore using trout baits for Cutthroat and worms for Tiger Trout, or cast spoons, Rapalas, and marabou jigs. While shore fishing is viable year-round, boat fishing offers more productive opportunities, with trolling and jigging being particularly successful methods. For those targeting deeper fish, downriggers or lead line can be employed to reach depths of 15 to 35 feet. Ice fishing is excellent in winter, focusing on jigging small ice flies tipped with bait on feeding flats adjacent to drop-offs. The west side of the reservoir offers easier shore access, while boaters can explore the more productive East shoreline.
