This year: Flow has been good on the Snake River, around 1600 CFS. Fishing quality has been good recently. The USGS data shows average flows this month around 7167 CFS, with a minimum of 2110 CFS, compared to last month's average of 930 CFS. Focus on nymphing with Frenchie, Spanish Bullet, and Quill Jigs. For dry fly action, try a September Stone Waterwalker, Royal Purple Chubby, or Purple Bruce. Hoppers are also coming into play. Recommended patterns include the PGH Royal PT Flash as a nymph imitation and the Water Walker, Royal Purple Chubby, and Purple Bruce for adult dry flies. The Frenchie, Spanish Bullet, and Quill Jigs are solid jig nymph choices.
