About Brush Hollow Reservoir
Brush Hollow Reservoir, a 88-acre lake located in Penrose, Colorado, offers warm water fly fishing opportunities for anglers. This State Wildlife Area is stocked with a variety of species including trout, bass, catfish, walleye, perch, and bluegill. While fishing is popular, mercury levels are high, so harvesting is discouraged. The reservoir is managed by Colorado Parks and Wildlife and is accessible for boating, with wake-less travel permitted, and is a good spot for kayak and canoe fishing. A loosely defined 2-3 mile trail circumnavigates the reservoir, providing walking and fishing access, though visitors should be aware of rattlesnakes. Additional trails for hiking, mountain biking, OHVs, and horseback riding are also accessible from the reservoir.
