Euro Nymphing

Euro Nymphing is a form of straight-line nymphing developed and refined through competitive fly fishing in Europe and later popularized in the United States. Also known as tight-line or contact nymphing, the technique maintains direct contact with weighted flies rather than using a traditional strike indicator. A colored section of leader, called a sighter, helps the angler track the drift and detect subtle strikes. Regional styles such as Czech, French, and Spanish nymphing use variations in leader length, fly weight, and presentation, but all share the same goal—maintaining precise control and contact throughout the drift.
