Slick Midge

The Slick Midge, designed by RIO, is a semi-realistic adult midge pattern known for its excellent visibility and effectiveness. Its white CDC top provides both flotation and visibility, making it easier for anglers to track the fly on the water. Tied on a barbless hook, this fly sits low in the surface film, perfectly imitating the emerging midge.

Fish Behind the Primary Hatches: When you spot larger insect hatches on the water, midges are often still present in the background. Cast the Slick Midge on the fringes of the hatch area, where fish are less likely to be distracted by bigger insects but are still feeding on midges in the surface film.
