Description
The Golden Flash Stone, developed by Kurt Shaffer of PGH Fly Co in 2023, is a nymph pattern tailored for Midwest anglers targeting trout and steelhead in murky waters. Shaffer, a lifelong fisherman and fly tier from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, founded PGH Fly Co to offer unique fly patterns. The Golden Flash Stone features a body of holographic tinsel reinforced with stainless steel wire, providing durability and a shimmering profile that attracts fish in low-visibility conditions.
Curated by the IdentaFly fly fishing team.
Pro Tip
High-Flow Effectiveness: In high-flow conditions, the Golden Flash Stone's weight and flash help it reach deeper holding areas where fish seek refuge. Use a tight-line nymphing technique to maintain control and detect subtle strikes.
