Ground Beetle

Its foam body, splayed legs, and iridescent underbody mimic the profile and sheen of real ground beetles that frequently end up on the water during hot, windy afternoons. Designed to ride low yet remain visible, it fills the critical size gap left by traditional small beetle patterns, offering trout a substantial, high-calorie meal they recognize instantly.

Drop the fly an inch or two off the bank rather than tight to it—large beetles often tumble down embankments and land slightly away from shore, and trout positioned just off the edge are conditioned to watch that exact zone.
