Foam Suspended Buzzer fly pattern - Midge emerger image

Description

The Foam-Suspended Buzzer is designed to hold a chironomid imitation just above the lakebed or at a fixed depth in stillwater. The foam keeps the fly neutrally buoyant, allowing it to hover naturally while the slim body and ribbing mimic an emerging midge. This presentation lets the fly remain in the feeding zone longer, triggering confident takes from cruising trout.

Curated by the IdentaFly fly fishing team.

Pro Tip

Fish it static on a floating line with a long leader; let it sit in the film. Works brilliantly as the point fly on a washing line setup. Trim foam smaller if fish are shy, or leave larger if you need extra visibility. Best colours: black, olive, claret with optional hot-spot butts.
