Description

The WD40 fly, crafted by legendary angler and guide Mark Engler, was developed in the 1980s to imitate small mayfly nymphs, particularly Blue-Winged Olive (Baetis) nymphs and emergers. Its simple, sparse design makes it highly effective in fooling selective trout in tailwater fisheries and during Baetis hatches. This pattern’s versatility as both a nymph and emerger is one reason it has remained a favorite among fly fishers.

Pro Tip

This pattern works on everything. Try down sizing when fish get picky! Try white or red - They actually work well.
