Panfish Spider fly pattern - Terrestrial dry image

Description

The Panfish Spider Fly was probably born on some bluegill and bass filled backwater or Southern bream pond, but it has proven to be ultra-versatile and effective everywhere fish swim. It works well on bluegill and other panfish. It catches bass, fools’ carp, and is a wonderful terrestrial pattern or beetle imitator for trout.

Pro Tip

Cast past the fish and slowly lift your rod tip just enough to make the legs quiver without moving the fly forward. That tiny in-place twitch mimics a drowning spider kicking on the surface—pushing panfish into aggressive, immediate strikes.
