The Burkus' Green Drake Dun, created by Ken Burkholder, is a finely tuned dry fly designed to imitate the large, iconic Green Drake mayflies in their full dun stage. Recognizing that trout often focus on duns resting momentarily on the water before taking flight, Burkholder crafted a pattern that captures this brief but vital phase. The fly features a slender, realistic body, upright wings, and carefully placed hackle to create a natural mayfly silhouette while providing buoyancy for rough waters.

High-Float Drift Strategy: Use a silicone-based floatant on the hackle and wing but avoid the tail to allow the fly to sit perfectly upright. Cast it into riffles and let it drift naturally through seams, where trout lie in ambush.
