Biot Mayfly

The Biot Mayfly, designed by Roy Palm, is a classic dry fly pattern crafted to imitate a variety of mayfly species in their adult stage. Known for its lightweight construction and realistic profile, the Biot Mayfly utilizes biot feathers for the body, which adds a natural segmentation and a delicate, realistic appearance. Palm’s design is particularly effective during hatches of smaller mayflies, including species like the Blue Wing Olive (BWO) and Pale Morning Dun (PMD).

Double-Presentation for Emergers: During active hatches, fish the Biot Mayfly as a dry fly in the upper column, while subtly twitching it near rising fish to imitate an emerging adult. Combine this with an emerger pattern dropped below the surface for a double fly setup, allowing you to target fish feeding on both emergers and adults at the same time.
