Description

The Irresistible is a classic dry fly pattern created by Joe Messinger Sr. in the 1930s. Originally named the "Deer Hair Drake," it was later renamed "Irresistible" after angler Ken Lockwood described it as such upon returning from a Canadian fishing trip. This high-floating fly is designed to imitate mayflies and other adult aquatic insects, making it a versatile attractor pattern. Its buoyant deer hair body and hackle allow it to ride well on the water's surface, even in fast currents.

Pro Tip

Use the Irresistible during mayfly hatches or as a general attractor in fast-flowing streams. Its buoyancy makes it ideal for fishing turbulent waters where maintaining a dry fly on the surface can be challenging.
