Description

The Crackleback fly was created by legendary fly tyer and angler, Ed Story, in the mid-20th century. He designed it to mimic a wide range of aquatic insects, particularly emerging caddisflies, mayflies, and midges. The name "Crackleback" is a nod to the distinctive crackling sound the fly makes when retrieved through the water, which often attracts the attention of hungry fish.

Pro Tip

At the end of the drift, retrieve in small bursts to trigger a strike.
