Stacker Mosquito

The Stacker Mosquito, designed by RIO, is a unique pattern that blends the classic "hackle stacker" technique with the delicate features of a mosquito. This fly is ideal for imitating the large skeeters found in Alaska, the Upper Midwest, or Alpine lakes. By combining the technique used in spring creeks with a more realistic mosquito profile, the Stacker Mosquito is able to float delicately in the surface film while remaining highly visible to the angler

Use a Stealthy Cast: Since the fly is intended to imitate mosquitoes sitting on the water’s surface, a precise, gentle cast is key to avoid spooking fish. Use a roll cast or a light overhead cast to place the fly exactly where fish are feeding.
