Description

The Sink It Spinner, designed by renowned fly tyer and guide Landon Mayer, is an innovative fly pattern that effectively imitates sunken or crippled adult mayflies, such as Pale Morning Duns (PMDs), Blue-Winged Olives (BWOs), and Tricos. Mayer developed this pattern to target trout feeding just below the surface film, where traditional dry flies may be less effective. The Sink It Spinner features a brass bead to help it sink slightly, scud backing rubber wings tied in a spent position to mimic natural wing movement, and a resin-coated abdomen for durability. This design allows the fly to drift naturally below the surface, enticing trout that are feeding on drowned or crippled mayflies

Pro Tip

Swing Technique: After the hatch, cast the Sink It Spinner downstream and allow it to swing across the current. This presentation imitates drowned spinners being swept downstream, appealing to trout feeding below the surface
