Description
Ref’s ISO Emerger, designed by Mike Bachkosky, is a highly effective fly for imitating the emerging Iso mayfly nymphs. Created to replicate the critical stage of Iso nymphs transitioning to their adult form, this fly features a delicate, translucent body and a well-balanced presentation. Bachkosky's design was developed to fish effectively during the Iso hatch, particularly when the nymphs are just breaking the surface or emerging beneath it.
Pro Tip
Under the Surface Tactic: When fish are targeting emergers rather than duns, cast the Ref’s ISO Emerger slightly upstream and allow it to drift just under the surface. A slow, controlled retrieve can make the fly mimic an Iso nymph that is struggling to break free from its exoskeleton, enticing strikes from fish looking for easy prey
