Description
Developed by Kurt Shaffer of PGH Fly Co in 2018, the KO emerald shiner is a weighted baitfish imitation developed for Great Lakes Steelhead. Lightly weighted, the fly can be drifted or stripped. The fly is constructed with Craft fur and heady thread with holographic eyes on the head. An effective pattern for steelhead, trout, smallmouth and largemouth bass.
Pro Tip
Inverted Presentation: Attach a small buoyant indicator a few inches above the fly to invert its position in the water column. This unconventional presentation can mimic an injured shiner struggling near the surface, appealing to opportunistic feeders.
