Pegged Egg image

Description

The Pegged Egg, the technique of “pegging” a bead is easy to learn and simple to employ. The idea is that the fish eats the “egg” and the act of setting the hook dislodges the pegged bead and slides the bare hook into the mouth of the fish. The goal here is to be in the 2-2.5" range between egg and hook. Check local regulation to make sure this is a legal set up for fishing.

Pro Tip

Watch your indicator, the bit will be soft in most cases. A gentle straight up hook set works best.
