Loco Mouse

The Loco Mouse, developed by fly tyer Steeve Baril, is a robust and buoyant rodent imitation fly designed for surface fishing. Created with the idea of enticing large predatory fish such as trophy trout, bass, and pike, this fly features a carefully trimmed deer hair body and foam construction for maximum buoyancy and lifelike presentation. Steeve designed the fly after observing how predatory fish in still and moving waters react to small mammals that inadvertently fall into streams and ponds. Its exaggerated features, like a suede tail and whiskers, enhance its visual appeal and movement, making it a reliable choice for nighttime or low-light conditions

"Drown the Loco" Technique: After casting near vegetation or overhanging branches, intentionally submerge the fly with a short, hard strip, then let it float back to the surface. This mimics a rodent struggling to regain buoyancy, an irresistible trigger for opportunistic predators.
