Hendrickson Light image

Description

The Hendrickson Light Dry was originally designed by Roy Steenrod in 1916, named in honor of his fishing companion Albert Everett Hendrickson. This fly was crafted to mimic the early season mayfly Ephemerella subvaria, one of the most significant hatches in Eastern North America. The female Hendrickson, slightly lighter in tone than the male, is essential for anglers targeting trout during the prolific spring emergence. This dry fly pattern, with its subdued hues and upright wings, captures the essence of the female duns, making it a critical imitation for the delicate surface-feeding of trout during these hatches.

Pro Tip

This pattern works for all Mayfly and Caddis hatches!
