Description

The Fuzzy Flash Bunker, designed by Capt. Chris Newsome, was created to imitate Atlantic menhaden, a key prey species for many predatory fish. The fly utilizes a combination of tying techniques and materials to create a high-profile pattern without adding excessive bulk, making it more streamlined and effective. Tied from 3 to 12 inches in length, it can be adjusted to match the size of the prevalent bait in the area. The Fuzzy Flash Bunker is not limited to menhaden; it can also be used when fish are keyed in on high-profile baits such as bunker, spot, shad, or pinfish. This versatile fly has accounted for a wide range of game fish species, including striped bass, speckled trout, summer flounder, bluefish, gray trout, red drum, cobia, snook, tarpon, jacks, barracuda, kingfish, and tuna. Pro Tip

Effective in Both Shallow and Deep Waters: The fly's high profile and streamlined design allow it to be effective in both shallow and deeper water. In shallow water, use a faster retrieve to keep the fly above the bottom, and in deeper waters, slow down your retrieve to keep the fly at the right depth where predatory fish are likely to strike.
