Designed to mimic the appearance of zooplankton clusters—a key food source for trout in nutrient-rich lakes—the FAB combines a dense, flashy body with a foam tail for lifelike suspension in the water column. Its origin lies in competition settings, where traditional foam-eyed patterns were banned, prompting a creative redesign that quickly became a staple among stillwater fly fishers worldwide.
