Description
The Dead Drift Crayfish- Created by Tim Hadden of Umpqua Feather Merchants. It’s engineered for targeting massive predator fish, the key is to present the offering near the river or stream bottom. A free-floating crawdad appears unnatural, but a tumbling crawdad fly in the current becomes irresistible to the fish.
Pro Tip
Use a large indicator to control depth. Adding weights on the leader will pull the fly towards the river bottom, allowing unweighted crayfish flies to drift with a lifelike illusion of disconnection.
