Sulphur Breadline Emerger image

Description

The Breadline Emerger Sulphur, developed by the innovative fly tier Bob Wyatt, was designed to bridge the gap between the nymph and adult stages of the Sulphur Mayfly. Wyatt, known for creating flies that prioritize functionality over perfection, crafted this pattern to mimic the vulnerable emerger stuck in the surface film. Its sparse design, combining natural dubbing and soft hackle, effectively imitates the transitional stage of the mayfly as it struggles to break free from its nymphal shuck. This fly is a deadly choice during Sulphur hatches when trout key on emergers rather than fully emerged adults

Pro Tip

Film Manipulation: Before casting, apply a very light coating of floatant only to the hackle and thorax area. This will allow the body to sit in the water while the hackle remains barely above, mimicking an emerger breaking through the surface tension.
