Alphlexo Crab

The Alphlexo Crab, developed by Umpqua signature tyer Alec Gerbec, is a specialized fly created for the challenging conditions of the Seychelles and designed to mimic a realistic crab shape without the slapping motion commonly seen with conventional crab patterns. The fly features a unique mesh material that allows for a quick descent while maintaining a lifelike shape, closely resembling a crab's carapace. Additionally, the Alphlexo is equipped with orange innards to simulate a spawning crab, making it an attractive choice for species that target crabs during their spawning periods. Originally designed to target permit, triggerfish, and large bonefish.

Fish in Clear, Shallow Waters: The Alphlexo is ideal for clear, shallow waters where predators such as permit and triggerfish can spot it from a distance. The mesh material allows the fly to sink slowly without disturbing the water, giving the fish plenty of time to strike.
